Brown University Aiding Women's Rugby in East Africa Through Tour

Opting out of the typical sun & beer-soaked spring break rugby tour, the Brown University Women's Rugby Team will travel to Kampala, Uganda, Africa to "help raise the visibility of the growing women’s rugby movement in Africa and inspire all to see the value of sport in building international bridges".

Brown's sending two sides, one competitive and one developmental, of 32 players, plus alums and guest coach Candy Orsini, the national team's assistant/backs coach. The trip gained Ugandan media attention in The Daily Monitor.

Brown will be the first non-African women's team to play in East Africa. The tour will focus on the development of both Brown women's rugby and international women's rugby.

The Uganda Women Rugby Association together with Brown University Scrum Captain Jen Hustwitt have initiated the trip.
Good luck on your tour Brown!
